The practice was established in 1993 by Mrs Karen Frank and has grown from strength to strength. Our optometrists and optical receptionists are dedicated to providing you with excellent service. We’re always happy to answer any questions you may have about your eye care or spectacles.

Twelve months ago we were delighted to take delivery of a state of the art digital retinal camera. This allows us to take pictures of the back of your eye which can instantly be assessed by the optometrist. The back of the eye is an excellent ‘window’ into your circulation system. It allows us to look for conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol.

Our practice works closely with the local primary care trust to provide specialist eye care services within the community. We are involved in:

• A local direct cataract referral scheme which aims to reduce waiting times for patients by referring them directly to a hospital of their choice.
• A local post cataract reporting scheme reducing the number of visits required to hospital following surgery
• A children’s eye care scheme following up referrals from other local healthcare professionals.

• Hearing tests and provision of hearing aids carried out by qualified audiologists.
• Diabetic screening arranged for you with the local primary care trust provider.
